Hotel Goldenes Kreuz is one of the oldest guest houses in Sterzing. Merchants and travellers on their way over the Brenner Pass used to stop here. Today it is cyclists on their way to Venice, families on their way to the sea and guests who come for the Christmas market.
In the house
Traditionally furnished, not off the peg
The house stands in the middle of the car-free pedestrian zone. The street is called Neustadt (“new town”) because it was rebuilt after a fire. Tiled stoves, painted farmhouse cupboards and the vault in the restaurant have remained; the comfort is of today.
